Family Navigation: Season 1: Summer | Season 3: Winter

Hello and welcome back to the Keet’s. We are processing quickly through the families in our achievement insanity project. During the last update, we met Lori and moved him into Sulani. There he met and married Aicha, and he managed to complete both of his rolls, and they are expecting their first child. Now, it’s important to note that, sadly, while playing a family earlier in the round I had missed that I hadn’t turned my scripting mods back on, so pregnancies were completed during that family. It only affected 2 pregnancies but that means we don’t get to see the birth of Lori’s firstborn. Now let’s dive in.

GOAL: You really love cereal. You eat live and breathe cereal. You must only eat cereal. You are not allowed to eat anything that isn’t cereal. (Ongoing)

We, as always, join the family at 4 AM where we find Aicha watching TV and Lori getting on the computer. They are sent to bed, until the morning, which is when we realized Aicha wasn’t pregnant anymore.

Everyone meet Kendall, which is the name the game gave her, and I like it, so we kept that name for her. She has green skin but is not an alien, she is just a normal sim. I am looking forward to seeing her grow up.

Anyway, as our new ongoing goal shows, Lori is forced to eat nothing but cereal. This might be a little tough to pull off, I’ll have to keep a close eye on him, but it’s kind of fun. I also decided that, while the list provided in the rules is great, it hasn’t been updated for a while. So I added a whole bunch of new items to the list to allow for other options from the later packs. If anyone is interested I’ll gladly share it.

After a quick meal of cereal, Lori goes and takes care of baby Kendall. He already is smitten with his little girl, and while I am a bit sad that she was born early, it wasn’t that early and should serve me right for not making sure I had everything set up right.

Apparently, Lori has been doing enough with his conservation career that the island is improving. I don’t think I want it to be fully improved as I’m assuming at some point the Krause family will need to complete this, but I suppose if it’s done it gives an automatic check off for that goal set. It would still have been done by us, just not by that specific family.

Both Lori and Aicha come home with promotions. Lori has been flying through his career and I really hope he doesn’t roll to change careers next week. Aicha we haven’t been focused on as much, but she is doing really well too.

Lori heads out and checks the fish trap near his house and while there weren’t any fish in it at this specific moment he set it again and we try and remind ourselves to check it again soon. I am so bad at remembering to check this trap.

Lori and Aicha go swimming and hang out on the beach. I really cannot get over how beautiful Sulani is as a world. We have some really pretty worlds, but I just really love playing in this place. Each of the island neighborhoods are beautiful.

Aicha needed to work on a musical instrument for her job and so we got her a guitar. This seemed like her instrument, and she took to it really quickly. I think I will like Aicha playing guitar.

Lori had to head out to the buoy to survey the ocean floor. I missed a picture of it, but there was a dolphin right there trying to decide if it liked Lori or not. It left pretty quickly once Lori was under the water for a while.

Lori works on testing some of his samples. I have gone through this career a few times, but I feel like I’m really working on doing all of the different things that are requested to do for this career. It’s been a lot of fun.

Poor Lori is getting really sick of cereal. Sorry, buddy, this is an ongoing goal and won’t stop until you get a new ongoing challenge. I haven’t really stuck to either easy/hard/beast mode rules, but I usually gear towards hard/beast mode usually in terms of rolls and my allowance of re-rolls.

Our little Kendall grew up into a toddler. Here I made another mistake. I have to roll for each age up to see what their new CAS rolls would be. Kendall rolled to change her skin and eyes, but what I missed in the rules was it’s only supposed to be for cosmetic items (so not skin, eyes, face shape, etc.) So we did change it, so you will see her as a red toddler, but I realize it later on. She also rolled to only wear dresses and skits. I don’t remember there being any other usable rolls.

Time for toddler spam! We get started right away with potty training, and then Aicha and Lori both play with their daughter in different ways. She is super cute and I just once again love toddlers. I’m very interested in how they change with the new update and EP. Kendall is an Angelic toddler, which I hadn’t mentioned before.

Lori needs to get Logic for his job so we give him a telescope to start. He watches for a while and then gets a message about a meteor, so we take him inside. I’m not willing to chance him dying on me quite yet.

Belle Krause comes by and gives Aicha a gift. I can’t remember for sure what she gave her, but after providing the gift the two ladies hang out together. They became friends during Belle’s update and I’m happy these young mothers are friends.

Lori continues to eat his cereal, although I know he’s getting sick of it, maybe we’ll get a new ongoing roll soon. Meanwhile, Aicha keeps making food so she and Kendall can have non-cereal to eat. I would love to roll a new ongoing goal so he can go back to eating regular food.

Poor Aicha gets sick with the swirly sickness. She gets lots of rest and drinks lots of water and orange juice to try and get rid of it as quickly as possible. I know she could order medicine, but they don’t have a ton of money having had to add onto the house for Kendall’s room.

Aicha continues to take care of Kendall and help her with her skills. Kendall also spends lots of time watching her mom so she can get all her thinking skill to the top. We want to make sure she can be a top-notch toddler after all.

It’s Spooky Day and both Aicha and Kendall change into costumes after talking a bit in the morning. They don’t do much else for Spooky Day and it’s pretty uneventful. They don’t even get any trick-or-treaters, which I suppose makes sense for where they are located.

Lori is up late hanging out with a friend and he decides to work out a bit. He starts doing a dancing work out and I don’t think I’ve watched these moves close enough for sure. It’s a lot of fun to watch.

Both of these guys get promotions again. They seem to be on a bit of a parallel course in their careers getting promotions close to each other. Both of them have been working hard in their careers.

It’s Lori’s turn to take care of Kendall when Aicha is out at work for the night. Lori loves his little girl and enjoys teaching her all the things she needs to learn. Although she is now skilled enough at the potty that she can do that all on her own. She is quickly getting through her skills.

GOAL: Buy a washer and a dryer you now have to deal with laundry. Congratulations!

It’s the start of the second week and we do not get another ongoing roll, sadly. So Lori has to continue to be all about cereal, and now we get laundry as well! To make room, we get rid of one countertop that we don’t use often and place a stacked washer/dryer and get the family a hamper.

Lori continues to eat his cereal and gets started on doing all the laundry that he will suddenly need to do. Aicha will of course help as well, but as neither has much handiness yet, so we have to be very careful with the dryer and fires.

Kendall is such a cutie and is doing really really well with her skills. She has been working on thinking and imagination. She needs to run around a bit more to get her movement up. It’s probably her lowest skill right now.

It’s time for a party. So all of Lori and Aicha’s friends are invited over for Lori’s birthday. It’s hard to believe he’s already an adult, but a cake is made, he blows out his candles and I think he got in a piece before I realized he couldn’t and stopped him. After the party, there was a lot to clean up, but the couple had a successful party and enjoys a snack that evening, cereal, of course, for Lori.

I think Aicha was trying to teach Kendall either to say sorry or to say please and thank you and I just love the faces here. I’m really looking forward to seeing who Kendall grows up to look more like. I really love this little girl and I don’t know if we will have them have another or not, a roll might determine more next round.

The couple has become a bit out of sync with their careers when Lori comes home with a promotion but Aicha has not gotten another. So far Lori is getting closer and closer to being able to finish up this career, which I would love to be able to let him do.

Another night and another party. Kendall completed all her skills and it’s now time for her birthday. Aicha plays some music for entertainment, and then it’s time for cake, again. This time we make sure Lori doesn’t grab a piece and instead sticks to cereal. Kendall grows up and we get the new CAS roles. It’s at this point that I realized I shouldn’t have changed her skin and eyes.

So here is Kendall after her makeover. She is back to the skin and eye color she had upon becoming a toddler and her rolls had her randomize her looks, have medium hair, and wear purple clothes in some way. She randomized into blond medium-length hair, so we decided to keep that and she needed medium hair.

It’s Harvestfest for the family and after appeasing the gnomes we take the family down to the ocean where they spend some time in the water and building sand castles for the holiday. They do not even end up doing a grand meal since Lori can’t eat it anyway. They have a successful holiday regardless.

Kendall is getting ready to start school and so we give her a head start by having Aicha help her with her homework. After that is completed Aicha pushes Kendall on the swings. I love this little hill by the house. It’s so lovely and made for a beautiful day for mother and daughter.

After school, one day Lori and Aicha take Kendall to the playground. Kendall actually got Outgoing, oh that was one of the rolls, only good traits, as her trait and so she got the social butterfly aspiration. So meeting a bunch of kids is very helpful for her already. I’m curious how she will do with this aspiration.

Aicha checks the fish trap and gets the fish out of it (we had been checking it more frequently than this, I just hadn’t taken pictures.) Then she goes ahead and resets the trap again. It’s nice to live on the ocean like this.

One final promotion for the round. Aicha gets another one and is close to where she gets to choose what kind of entertainer she wishes to be. We are going for comedy since she has the Joke Star aspiration.

That will all wait until the next round though as it’s already 4 AM on Sunday. The goals so far have not been too bad and they have been a lot of fun to play with (and to make up for the ones I added.) I would love to get a new aspiration for Lori, but we’ll just have to see. Next round we will likely determine if we have Kendall be an only child or not. I have really enjoyed this little family and hope to see you next time!
